Originally from Fayetteville, Georgia and owning a love of art and photography from an early age, Kathleen earned an academic scholarship to the University of Georgia in 1995. She graduated from Georgia in 2000 with a degree in journalism and was hired as a staff photographer for the Chattanooga Times Free Press.
Her seven-year career in photojournalism was well decorated. She won numerous state and regional awards — from groups ranging from the Associated Press to the East Tennessee Society of Professional Journalists — and was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in 2002.
Kathleen married Jay Greeson in August 2004, and she left the Times Free Press in June 2007 in preparation of their first child, Lee, who was born in September.
Though she left the newspaper, her love of taking meaningful and emotional and true photographs remains ever-present. She has traveled across the country on a wide array of assignments — from weddings in Arizona to the one-year anniversary ceremony at Ground Zero to the reconstruction efforts in Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina.
Her abilities are only matched by her professionalism — and her willingness and commitment to provide the perfect photo. Her ethics and dedication are unmatched.
Your photos are the tangible evidence of your memories. Trust them to someone with the experience and the talent to capture them perfectly. Trust them to Kathleen Greeson.
